Product Description

A single vineyard Verdejo from DO Rueda, Marqués de Riscal Finca Montico is made from vines over 40 years of age. They are planted on terraces on the banks of the Duero river. Soils are very poor, composed mainly of gravel.

Produced by Marqués de Riscal, the grapes were harvested in little boxes to avoid fruit bruising. Once in the cellar, they were cold-soaked and delicately pressed in order to obtain a high quality free-run juice.

Then half of this Spanish white wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks.

After that, 80% of Marqués de Riscal Finca Montico 2019 was aged on lees in the tanks for 4 months minimum, while the rest completed the process in a 6,000-litre French oak vat. Finally, the wine was blended and bottled.

The elegance of this white wine from Rueda is remarkable.

Additional Information

The white wine Marqués de Riscal Finca Montico is medium straw with some greenish and golden tinges.

Well-defined aromas of bitter herbs, fennel and flowers, typical of a Verdejo white wine, with hints of tropical fruit, citrus, and a dim minerality

Refined and crisp, this wine from bodega Marqués de Riscal conveys a clear sense of terroir. Smooth texture, quite detailed, with a first-class acidity and long, complex finish with remembrances of fennel, aniseed and hay.

One of the best Verdejos out there, comparable to Belondrade but much more affordable.

Very subtle and classy. Nose is suprisingly delicate for a Verdejo. The palate is mineral, crisp and very precise. Excellent.
