Product Description
Details

A single vineyard Verdejo from DO Rueda, the wine Marqués de Riscal Finca Montico proudly bears the name Gran Vino de Rueda.

It is made from vines certified organic over 50 years of age. They are situated on terraces on the banks of the Duero river, in one of the highest areas of the La Seca region. Soils are very poor, composed mainly of gravel.

Made by Marqués de Riscal winery, the grapes were harvested in little boxes to avoid fruit bruising. Once in the cellar, they were cold-soaked and whole cluster pressed in a very gentle manner, to obtain a high quality free-run juice.

Then this Spanish white wine fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks.

After that, 80% of the white wine Marqués de Riscal Finca Montico 2024 was aged on lees in the tanks for 8 months, while the rest completed the same process in a 6,000-litre French oak vat and in concete eggs. Finally, this vegan wine was blended and bottled.

The elegance of this organic white wine from Rueda is remarkable.

One of the best Verdejos out there, comparable to Belondrade but much more affordable.

Very subtle and classy. Nose is suprisingly delicate for a Verdejo. The palate is mineral, crisp and very precise. Excellent.
