Made by bodegas Palacios Remondo, headed by the one and only Álvaro Palacios, the red wine Palacios Remondo La Montesa is made from a blend of Grenache and other traditional varieties (8%).
The grapes are sourced fom a single estate, La Montesa, planted with 36-year-old certified organic vines, located on the foothills of Monte Yerga, near the village of Alfaro, at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level.
Hand-harvested between September 28 and October 20, the grapes were meticulously sorted, destemmed and spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks with periodic pump-overs and a 39-day maceration. The malolactic fermentation of this Spanish red wine also took place in stainless steel tanks.
After that, the wine Palacios Remondo La Montesa 2021 was transferred into oak barrels and aged for a period of 12 months. This Crianza red wine was clarified before bottling and released onto the market in May 2024.
