Proelio Viñedos Viejos de Garnacha 2021
The wine Proelio Viñedos Viejos de Garnacha is sourced from 80-year-old Grenache vines planted in 18 little plots scattered across the Alto Najerilla subzone of DOCa Rioja, in the village of Cárdenas, at an average height of 600 metres.
Hand-harvested and meticulously selected, 60% of the grapes were destemmed and 40% were vinified whole bunch. This varietal Spanish red wine from Bodegas Palacios Vinos de Finca-Proelio was spontaneously fermented in wooden vats with native yeasts.
After that, this red wine from La Rioja was aged for 12 months in 4,000-litre French oak vats and 3,000-litre oblong diposits before being bottled.
Finally, the red wine Proelio Viñedos Viejos de Garnacha 2021 was aged for some time in the bottle before hitting the market.
