A varietal Tinta de Toro, the wine Quinta Quietud is produced by Bodega Quinta de la Quietud from low-yielding vineyards planted between 1960 and 1988 at an altitude over 700 metres above sea level in the heart of DO Toro.
The poor soils are farmed following the principles of organic farming, which include, among other techniques, decoction of indigenous plants (lavender, nettle) to prevent possible vine diseases.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were carefully selected and brought to the cellar in little boxes. Then they were fully destemmed, crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks with wild yeasts and a 2-week maceration period, with daily pump-overs. This Spanish red wine was drawn-off twice after completing the process.
After that, the red wine Quinta Quietud 2020 was kept for 6 months in the tanks with periodic stirrings. Then this red wine from Toro was aged for 24 months in French oak barrels, 33% new.
Decant this Reserva red wine from at least 1 hour before drinking.

| Palate | Meaty and powerful, with a delicately warm core and a smooth texture. Fruit compote, subtle spicy and balsamic notions, some earthy notes and a touch of liquorice and blue flowers. This red wine of bodega Quinta de la Quietud has a very good acidity, some lively tannins and a long, mineral finish. |
