Product Description
Details

Produced in the southern Catalan region of Terra Alta, Tempus is a blended Spanish red wine of the Altavins winery.

The wine is made from Syrah, Grenache and Carignan, all of them coming from low-yielding, over 30-year-old vineyards located near the town of Batea.

Harvested by hand in little boxes and macerated for 22 days in deposits, the grapes were fermented with their skins to increase the structure and complexity of the wine.

After that, Tempus 2019 was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and for a further 12 months in the bottle prior to its commercial release.

Pair this Crianza red wine with meat recipes.

Decant this red wine from Terra Alta 1 hour before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Tempus is medium purple with a violet rim.

Nose

This blend Syrah, Grenache and Carignan smells of juicy black fruit, with some toasted notes and hints of cinnamon and clove over a mineral and balsamic background.

Palate

Gentle and meaty, this wine of the Altavins winery has a delicately warm core and a silky body. Fruit is skilfully balanced with the wooden notes, acidity is crisp and tannins are lively and pleasant. Long finish with remembrances of ripe fruit, balsam, flowers and cocoa.

Our personal opinion

An expressive Mediterranean wine, Tempus 2019 is wonderfully drinkable and nicely priced.

Terra Alta is on the rise. I've had so many great values from the region!! Check the whites too, they're simply outstanding.

A very satisfying red wine from Tierra Alta. Spicy and persistent, with cocoa, yummy red fruit and a long finish.
