Produced in DO Rías Baixas, the red wine Terra de Mareas Loureiro will appeal to curious wine drinkers and hardcore wine geeks as well.
Indeed, this Spanish red wine is made solely from Loureiro grapes. This is a very scarce indigenous Galician red variety which produces Atlantic-style wines with a high acidity and a lithe character.
Furthermore, since this wine from bodega Terra de Mareas do Nordes saw no oak, the variety is presented here in a crystalline manner.
This varietal red wine from Rías Baixas was produced from over 30-year-old vineyards situated in Val do Salnés, an area with a deep maritime influence.
The grapes were hand-harvested at meticulously selected. Once in the cellar, the grapes were gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
After that, the red wine Terra de Mareas Loureiro 2021 was kept in the tanks for some months until bottling.
This small-batch red wine from Galicia will nicely accompany a cold meats platter or a nice stew.
