The wine Volandia Mencía Barrica is made by Bodega Mar de Envero, mostly known for its white wines.
This Spanish red wine is made solely from Mencía, multifaceted red variety that, in the DO Ribeira Sacra, expresses its most delicate Atlantic side.
Hand-harvested in small boxes, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks, where they were cold-macerated before fermenting under controlled temperature.
After that, the red wine Volandia Mencía Barrica 2020 was aged in 400-litre French oak barrels for 12 months.
Before being bottled, this red wine from Ribeira Sacra was aged for some months in the tanks. Then it was aged in the bottle for 6 months minimum prior to being released onto the market.
This crisp Crianza red wine will make a fabulous pairing with BBQ'd meat and braised vegetables.
