This is the new vintage of Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial, arguably the best-known Spanish red wine of the Abadía Retuerta winery.
After a pre-fermentation cold-maceration, the wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks. After completing malolactic fermentation, Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial 2018 was transferred into French and American oak barrels and aged for 12 months.
We recommend that you decant this red wine from Castilla y León a minimum of 30 minutes before drinking.

The red wine Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial is deep ruby with a violet rim.
This blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Grenache and Syrah is packed with fruit. Notes of blackberries, plums and wild berries, with some lactic touches, hints of tobacco and spices, and a deep mineral background.
Smooth and fresh, with some dim, well-integrated spicy nuances and deep earthy notes. This wine of Abadía Retuerta is crisp and rich, with firm tannins and a long, balsamic finish. Excellent overall balance.

Though it does not bear the official seal of the designation of origin, Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial 2018 is one of the most elegant wines from Ribera del Duero.
