Red Wine Ángeles de Amaren 2018
Availability: In stock
Produced by Bodegas Amaren, Ángeles de Amaren is an homage to the mother of Luis Cañas, the owner of the winery ("Amaren" means "mother" in basque).
Made from a blend of Tempranillo (85%) and Graciano (15%), this Spanish red wine is produced from low-yielding, over 50-year-old estate-owned vineyards.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were brought to the cellar in little boxes and carefully selected. After that, they were destemmed and selected again.
Vinified in stainless steel tanks, Ángeles de Amaren 2018 completed malolactic fermentation and was subsequently aged in new American (35%) and French (65%) oak barrels for 14 months. Finally, the wine was blended and aged in the bottle until its commercial release.
Aerate this Crianza red wine from La Rioja 30 minutes before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Ángeles de Amaren is medium purple with a crimson rim. |

Nose | This blend of Tempranillo and Graciano has a rich nose. Aromas of mulberries, laurel, rosemary and aromatic herbs, further nuanced by suggestions of clove, strawberries, liquorice, bitter cocoa and vanilla. |
Palate | Fresh and expressive, with a precise acidity and some velvety tannins. This wine from Bodegas Amaren has a nice minerality, with some spicy and creamy notes and a long finish with remembrances of blackberries, toast, balsam and undergrowth. |
Our personal opinion | A classic Rioja, Ángeles de Amaren 2018 is perfect for lovers of the region's traditional style. |
