Artadi Viñas de Gaín 2022
The wine Artadi Viñas de Gaín is the entry-level Spanish red wine of Bodegas Artadi, one of Rioja Alavesa's most famed producers.
This Crianza red wine is sourced from organically grown Tempranillo vineyards planted at altitudes between 450 and 700 metres above sea level, in an area with a Continental climate nuanced by some Mediterranean influence. The main variety is complemented with a smidgen (less than 5%) of the white variety Viura.
After undergoing a cold pre-fermentation maceration for 24 to 48 hours, the grapes were fermented for 10-12 days in open wooden vats with periodic pump-overs. Then the red wine Artadi Viñas de Gaín 2022 completed the malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and was subsequently aged for 10 months.
Finally, this red wine from La Rioja Alavesa was kept for some time in the cellar before its commercial release.
