Details

Produced by Bodega Otto Bestué, the wine Finca Santa Sabina is a single vineyard Spanish red wine made in Somontano.

Made from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Tempranillo, the grapes were meticulously harvested. Once in the cellar, they were destemmed and slightly crushed, after which they were macerated at a low temperature to foster the extraction of colour and tannin.

Alcoholic fermentation, followed by a long maceration, took place in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, the wine Bestué Finca Santa Sabina 2021 was transferred into new and 2nd year French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 14 months. During the process, pump-overs were performed twice a day.

Undoubtedly, this red wine from Somontano is a remarkable value.

Appearance

The red wine Bestué Finca Santa Sabina is medium purple with a ruby rim.

Nose

Intensely aromatic, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo carries lively aromas of red and black fruit, alongside some delicate spicy hints, a touch of aromatic herbs, a spark of leather, some freshly ground coffee and some café latte candy remembrances.

Palate

The palate of this wine of Bodega Otto Bestué is elegant and attractive, with an excellent balance and some ripe, smooth tannins. The wine is big-boned, but not overblown, thanks to its great acidity. Very well crafted, this Somontano red wine suggests some inviting, delicately toasted wild berries, nuanced by some earthy and balsamic notes. Long finish.

Our personal opinion

Juicy and honest, the wine Bestué Finca Santa Sabina 2021 will pair excellently with BBQ'd meat.
