Product Description

What makes Bosque de Matasnos Tempranillo Malbec unique among the wines produced in the DO Ribera del Duero is the fact that it is the only wine crafted from a blend of 75% Tempranillo and 25% Malbec. This Spanish red wine of the Bosque de Matasnos winery is, in short, a trailblazer.

It is made from over 60-year-old vineyards located at an altitude of 950 metres above sea level.

The grapes were picked by hand, selected once on site, and twice on entering the cellar. Then they were cold macerated and slowly fermented at a controlled temperature. Once both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were completed, the red wine Bosque de Matasnos Tempranillo Malbec 2016 was aged in fine-grained French oak barrels for 24 months.

We suggest that you aerate this one-of-a-kin Crianza red wine from Ribera del Duero some time before you drink it.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The wine Bosque de Matasnos Tempranillo Malbec is deep cherry with a violet rim.

This blend of Tempranillo and Malbec is intriguing and suggestive. Mulberries and redcurrants, with a note of blue flowers, dim spicy and toasted notes, and an earthy note with some balsamic remembrances.

Fresh and suprisingly supple, this wine of Bosque de Matasnos is fruit-driven and yummy. Again, there are some noticeable floral nuances, along with notes of clove and cedar, and some herbal notes. Excellent acidity, smooth tannins and long, complex finish.

Our personal opinion

Subtle, moreish and captivating. Bosque de Matasnos Tempranillo Malbec 2016 stands out among the wines from Ribera del Duero.
