Product Description
Details

The NV Champagne Crucifix La Grande Reserve Extra Brut - previously known as Crucifix Grande Reserve Premier Cru Brut - is produced by Maison Crucifix Père et fils from a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay.

The grapes are sourced from Premier Cru vineyards, 25 to 35 years of age, located in Montagne de Reims, in the Avenay-Val d'Or commune, in the heart of the AOC Champagne.

This Non-Vintage Champagne was crafted with approximately a 30% of Reserve wines. After completing secondary fermentation, the Champagne Crucifix La Grande Reserve Extra Brut was aged for 4 years minimum.

After being disgorged, this Champagne Reserve Brut was kept in the cellar for another 4 months before hitting the market.

Appearance

The non-vintage Champagne Crucifix La Grande Reserve Extra Brut is pale yellow, with some golden tinges.

Nose

Well-defined aromas of white flowers and fine lees, with hints of baked apples, French patisserie and dry fruit. This blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is refined and seductive.

Palate

While displaying the elegance and flair that one expects from a good Champagne, this wine from Maison Crucifix Père et fils is also quite substantial. Bubbles are tiny and well integrated, and finish is long and persistent, leaving an aftertaste of fruit compote and a buttery note.

Our personal opinion

The NV Champagne Crucifix La Grande Reserve Extra Brut will make an excellent pairing wit white meat, oysters and cheese.
