Cava Duran 5V Gran Reserva Brut 2017

This is the new vintage of Duran 5V Gran Reserva Brut, produced by Cava Duran from a blend of 5 varieties (hence the name 5V).
Specifically, this Spanish sparkling wine is made from the three traditional Cava grapes, Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel·lo, plus the French ones Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Harvest began in late August with the Chardonnay and Pinot noir varieties, followed by Xarel·lo and Macabeo in September, and finally Parellada in late October. All of the grapes were picked by hand.
The varieties were separately fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with the exception of Chardonnay, which was fermented in French oak barrels. Finally, Duran 5V Gran Reserva Brut 2017 was blended and aged for a minimum of 48 months.
The cava Duran 5V Gran Reserva Brut is medium yellow with some golden glints. This Cava Brut Gran Reserva has some nice, tiny bubbles.
Intense, complex and elegant, this blend of Macabeo, Xarel·lo, Parellada, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay conveys aromas of ripe white fruit, exotic spices and white flowers, with hints of fine lees, baked appels, aromatic herbs and vanilla.
Creamy and seductive, with a zesty acidity and a vinous, structured body. This cava from Cava Duran has a delicate mousse and a long finish with remembrances of white fruit, English custard, herbs de Provence and dry fruit.
