Details
Produced by Finca Villacreces, the wine Finca Villacreces Pruno is made mostly from Tinto Fino (aka Tempranillo) grapes, nuanced with a 5% of Cabernet Sauvignon.
This well-known Spanish red wine is sorted from vines planted in sandy loam soils at an altitude of 710 metres, near the town of Quintanilla de Onésimo, in the heart of Ribera del Duero.
The grapes went through two selection processes. Destemmed but not crushed, they were subsequently put into stainless steel tanks to complete alcoholic and malolactic fermentation.
After that, the red wine Finca Villacreces Pruno 2021 was transferred into 2nd and 3rd French oak barrels (Darnajou and Taransaud), were it was aged for 12 months. Finally, this Crianza red wine was clarified with egg whites and bottled.
A remarkable value, it is worth remembering that Robert Parker wrote that this red wine from Ribera del Duero was the all-time best Spanish wine under 20$.

After a not-so-satisfying 2015 and 2016, the 2017 vintage is back on top!! Great value.
