Made by Bodega Frontio, the wine project of Dane Thyge Benned Jensen, the wine Frontio Follaco showcases the amazingly rich wine heritage of DO Arribes, an up-and-coming Spanish wine region located in the southern part of the Zamora province, right on the border with Portugal.
This varietal Spanish red wine is made solely from Juan García, the main native variety of the region. The vines are planted in granite and quartz soils.
The handpicked grapes were macerated before being fermented with native yeasts in used oak barrels. Then this red wine from Arribes went through a spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
Finally, the wine Frontio Follaco 2024 was aged for 5 months in a 1,200-litre oak vat.
