Availability: In stock
The flagship Spanish red wine from Bodegas Ostatu, Gloria Ostatu belongs to the "Vinos Singulares" collection, which highlights the characteristics of the winery's best parcels.
A varietal Tempranillo, the grapes are sourced solely from parcela Revillas. Located at 580 metres of altitude, this exceptional vineyard is planted with over 80-year-old vines, which grow in very poor soils composed of clay, limestone and rocks.
The grapes were picked by hand on the 12th of October and meticulously selected. Once in the cellar, the grape bunches were cold-macerated for several hours and fermented in stainless steel tanks with period punch-downs and pump-overs. After 18 days, Gloria Osatu 2011 was transferred into new French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 18 months.
Aerate this reserva red wine from La Rioja 1 hour before drinking.

Nose | Intense and terroir-bound, this varietal old-vines Tempranillo suggests aromas of greengages, damson and plums, with a spicy and toasted background and intimations of Havanna cigars, ground coffee and herbs. |
Palate | Nuanced and delicately warm, this red wine from Ostatu shows a quintessential Rioja character. Gently oaky, with ripe tannins, an understated elegance and a fine acidity, first quality fruit and a long finish with a note of liquorice and balsam. |
