This interesting Spanish red wine is produced from a single parcel of Merlot vines planted in 1991.
The 10-hectare vineyard, called Vinya Palau, has two kinds of soils: one is a combination of clay and limestone, and the other is composed of sand and gravel. This fact gives the red wine Jean Leon Vinya Palau Merlot a noteworthy complexity.
The grapes were harvested by hand. First they were destemmed, and then this organic red wine of the Jean Leon winery was fermented and macerated for about 20 days in stainless steel tanks.
