Product Description
Details

Produced following the winemaking traditions of Montsant, the red wine Maria Ganxa is solely produced from Carignan vines planted in clayey soils.

After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were brought to the facilities of Celler Pascona, where they were selected, destemmed and gently pressed.

Then this Spanish red wine was fermented in 5,000-litre truncated cone-shaped stainless steel deposits, with frequent pump-overs and punch-downs.

Finally, the red wine Maria Ganxa 2023 underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for about 3 months on its lees.

This a fresh and unwooded red wine from Montsant.

Pair this young red wine with BBQ'd meat, tapas and a nice cheese platter.

Nose

This varietal unoaked Carignan is fruity and inviting. Aromas of red and black fruit, some subtle floral nuances, and some hints of wet earth, flowers and spices.

Palate

This young red wine from Celler Pascona has the liveliness typical of Carignan. Cocoa, boysenberries, blue flowers and some mineral remembrances. Round and juicy, with a good acidity and a long finish.

Fresh and savoury, the red wine Maria Ganxa de Pascona 2023 is an excellent value.

Value
It seems that carinena is becoming sort of hype. Well, judging by this wine I understand why. No oak, very precise, rock solid, super fresh.
