This Spanish sparkling wine not only has a funny-sounding name ("Martínez" is as common a surname in Spanish as "Smith" or "Jones" in English. Thus, the Cava Martínez Brut Nature Rosé sounds as refreshingly irreverent in Spanish as "Jack Smith Rosé Millesimé " would sound in English.)
Besides the pun, this rosé Cava by the Rimarts winery has some truly interesting features. It is crafted from a blend of Pinot Noir and Grenache, sourced from certified organic vineyards.
Vinified in a traditional way, as the DO Cava prescribes, after a careful winemaking process the base rosé wine completed secondary fermentation in the bottle with no sugar added.
Afterwards, the sparkling wine Martínez Brut Nature Rosé 2023 was aged between 9 and 15 months in the bottle prior to its commercial release.
