Made from 30% Cabernet Franc, 30% Grenache, 20% Carignan and 20% Merlot, the red wine Nas Del Gegant is a low-sulfites natural wine sourced from Finca Els Bassotets, a vineyard with clay-limestone soils planted with 20-year-old vines and located in Prenafeta, Tarragona, DO Conca de Barberà.
This blended Spanish red wine is produced by the Escoda-Sanahuja winery, which began its activity in 1997 following the guidelines of organic farming. In 2003, they took a step forward and implemented biodynamic practices in all of its agricultural procedures.
Harvested by hand following the indications of the lunar calendar, this no sulfites added red wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks and subsequently aged for 10 months in those same containers.
Prior to its bottling,the red wine Nas del Gegant 2022 was not filtered or clarified.
Be sure to decant this red wine from Conca de Barberà at least 30 minutes before you drink it.
The red wine Nas del Gegant is medium ruby with a garnet rim.
This blend of Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Carignan and Merlot opens a bit tight. After some aeration, it brings aromas of red berries, withered flowers, Mediterranean undergrowth, white pepper, dried flowers and balsam.
This red wine of the Escoda-Sanahuja winery is lively and expansive, with fresh nuances of red berries, alongside notes of vegetables, spices, blue flowers and underbrush. This low sulfur red wine has ripe tannins, a tapering acidity and a pleasant, medium-long finish.
