Made by bodega Cap de Barbaria, the red wine Ophiusa comes from the southernmost tip of beautiful Formentera, in the Balearic archipelago. "Ophiusa" is the ancient Greek name of the island, meaning "land of snakes."
Harvested by hand and destemmed, the varieties were separately fermented in stainless steel tanks and macerated before going through malolactic fermentation. After that, this red wine from Formentera was transferred into French oak barrels, where it was aged for 6-7 months.
Finally, the red wine Ophiusa 2022 was stored for some years in the cellar before hitting the market.
