Produced only in singular vintages, the wine Pesquera Janus Gran Reserva connects the glorious past with the bright future ahead of the world-renowned Tinto Pesquera winery, founded by the legendary Alejandro Fernández.
This varietal Spanish red wine is sourced from old Tempranillo vineyards oriented to the south and planted at 800+ metres above sea level near Pesquera de Duero. The area has mainly calcareous soils with some clay that have the capacity to retain moisture for a long time. The climate is harsh, with bitterly cold winters and very hot summers. All in all, excellent conditions for growing top-quality grapes.
The hand-harvested grapes were meticulously harvested and selected. This red wine from Ribera del Duero was exquisitely vinified. After that, the red wine Pesquera Janus Gran Reserva 2018 was aged for 28 months in American oak barrels.
Once bottled, this Gran Reserva red wine was kept for some years in the cellar before hitting the market.
Decant 1 hour before drinking.

Nose | This varietal Tempranillo is heart-stoppingly intense. Coco, chocolate and Tahitian vanilla, intertwined with ripe blackberries, raspberries and blueberry pie, with undertones of tar, pine needles and resin, underscored by a mineral streak. |
Palate | Luscious and intoxicating, this wine of bodega Tinto Pesquera is full-bodied, massive and also impressively balanced, given its concentration. Fine-grained tannins, medium to high acidity and rewarding freshness, with an amazingly long finish reminiscent of candied citrus peel, fine wood and exotic spices. |
Our personal opinion | The wine Pesquera Janus Gran Reserva 2018 is beyond impressive. One of the great XXL red wines of the world. |
