The sparkling wine Puput Pét Nat - formerly known as Aus Pét-Nat - is made by Celler de les Aus, a branch of the Alta Alella winery focused on the production of natural wines with minimal intervention techniques and no added sulfur.
Made solely from Pansa Blanca (aka Xarel·lo), this Pét-Nat Spanish sparkling wine is sourced from certified organic vineyards planted in sauló (granitic sand) soils in DO Alella, Catalonia’s tiniest designation of origin, a coastal area at a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean sea just 20 km from Barcelona.
This varietal organic sparkling wine began fermentation in stainless steel tanks and, as prescribed by the ancestral method, completed the process in the bottle.
The wine Puput Pét-Nat 2024 was bottled unfiltered, non-disgorged, with the same fermentation cap and with no added sulfites.
This sparkling wine from Alella is charmingly pure and radically indigenous.
