Produced by the Sierra Cantabria winery, owned by the Eguren brothers, the wine Sierra Cantabria Crianza is a modern classic from La Rioja.
Made solely from Tempranillo, the vines are planted in clay-limestone soils with very low levels of organic matter. Farmed following environmentally friendly procedures, the vineyards of this Spanish red wine are located in the towns of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida.
The grapes were first harvested by hand and selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Then they were destemmed and gently crushed, after which the resulting wine must was macerated and fermented with indigenous yeasts.
After that, the red wine Sierra Cantabria Crianza 2021 was aged for 14 months in French and American oak barrels. During that period, it was racked every 6 months. It was bottled in November2024.
