Red Wine Tarima Hill 2020
Availability: In stock
Produced by Bodegas Volver, Tarima Hill is made from old Monastrell vineyards located at the foot of the Salinas mountains, in the northern area of DO Alicante.
The vines were planted in limestone soils between 1932 and 1975. The area has an extreme Continental climate.
Harvest was carried out meticulously. The alcoholic fermentation of this Spanish red wine took place in stainless steel tanks, while malolactic fermentation took place in French oak barrels.
After that, Tarima Hill 2020 was aged for 14 months in the barrels.
We suggest that you aerate this Crianza red wine about 40 minutes before you drink it.
Pair this red wine from Alicante with Ibérico ham and meat dishes.
Appearance | The red wine Tarima Hill is deep ruby with a garnet rim. |

Nose | After some aeration, this old-vines Monastrell opens to some toasted notes and spices that slowly evolve into notes of ripe black fruit, tree bark, dry earth and a touch of Havana cigars. |
Palate | Bold and expressive, with a clear note of liquor-infused fruit mingled with hints of toast and spices. In the background, an intriguing mineral and earthy layer. This wine from Bodegas Volver from Jorge Ordóñez has an excellent acidity, very refreshing, some ripe, savoury tannins and a long, persistent finish with a surprising touch of bitter chocolate and smoke. |
Our personal opinion | A serious vegan wine at a very affordable price, Tarima Hill 2020 is a superb Mediterranean Monastrell from Alicante that will make a great pairing with, for instance, a lamb stew. |
