Produced by bodega Terroir sense Fronteres, the sibling project in DO Montsant of Dominik Huber’s world-renowned bodega Terroir al Límit from DOQ Priorat, the wine Terroir sense Fronteres Marcenca is probably the most delicate and subtle Spanish red wine of the whole product range.
This varietal Grenache wine is sourced from an exceptional 50-year-old vineyard – the same used for the top-shelf red wine Guix Vermell – located at 800 metres of altitude, in an area with soils composed of red clay and abundant gypsum.
The grapes were picked by hand and meticulously sorted, after which this red wine from Montsant went through a whole-bunch maceration in concrete diposits for 6-8 days. After that, the red wine Terroir sense Fronteres Marcenca 2022 was kept for 6 months in the diposits, during which period tannin an colour extraction was extremely mild.
This remarkable red wine from Montsant was bottled in April 2023.
Only 1,800 bottles produced.
