Produced by Bodegas Valdaya, the red wine Valdaya showcases the distinctive winemaking style which has made this young winery one of the rising stars in DO Ribera del Duero.
A varietal Tinta del País, this Spanish red wine is produced from 9 plots of bushvines aged 50 to 70 years and planted at 900 metres of altitude in the province of Burgos.
Each parcel was individually micro-vinified in open oak barrels and concrete diposits. First, the grapes were macerated for 2-3 days before going through alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts for a period of 20 days with daily pump-overs.
After that, each wine was transferred into barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 15 months.
Finally, Valdaya 2019 was blended and aged for some months in the bottle before being launched onto the market.
Decant this red wine from Ribera del Duero at least 40 minutes before drinking.

| Nose | Packed with information, this varietal Tinta del País feels quite young, and thus somewhat tight. Violets, wild berries and blueberries, with hints of tree bark, pine cones, smoke and ash, intertwined with dim spicy notes and some mineral remembrances. |
| Palate | Again, this wine from Bodegas Valdaya has an impressive complexity which is just beginning to unfold. Terroir-bound and deeply mineral, with exceptional freshness, chewy tannins, a great natural concentration of flavours and lots of nuances to appreciate. Very long finish with a berryish and floral aftertaste. |
