Known mostly for the red wines, Bodegas Valduero presents the new vintage of the white wine Valduero Blanco - formerly known as García Viadero Albillo - made solely from the local variety Albillo, the only white grape thus far authorized by the Ribera del Duero regulatory board.
This varietal Spanish white wine is sourced from 12 hectares of low-yielding vineyards, located at roughly 800 metres above sea level, planted with young vines 15 years of age on average.
The grapes were picked by hand and cold-macerated before being pressed. Alcoholic fermentation of this white wine from Ribera del Duero lasted two weeks, and it was carried out in stainless steel tanks and under a strict temperature control.
The white wine Valduero Blanco 2024 was not filtered or stabilized before its bottling.
Limited production. Pair this white wine aged on lees with baked fish and sautéed vegetables.

| Palate | Showing a good equilibrium between fruit and freshness, this white wine from Bodegas Valduero suggests some understated tropical notes, combined with some mineral and earthy nuances, with very firm backbone of acidity. Very fresh and easy to drink, with a smooth texture and a long, elegantly dry finish with an aftertaste of citrus and fennel. |
| Our personal opinion | The white wine Valduero Blanco 2024 made quite an impression on us. The Albillo variety deserves to be taken seriously. |
