Coming from La Rioja, Valserrano Crianza is produced by Viñedos y Bodegas de la Marquesa, also known as Bodegas Valserrano.

Virtually a varietal Tempranillo, this Spanish red wine has a a droplet of Mazuela (5%).

The grapes were carefully harvested and cold-macerated before going through alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

After that, Valserrano Crianza 2018 was aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels.

Finally, this Crianza red wine was aged for a further months in vats to further assemble all of its components.

Appearance

The red wine Valserrano Crianza is medium purple with a garnet rim.

Nose

This is an expressive blend of Tempranillo and Graciano, carrrying subtle aromas of fine wood, red berries, spices, smoke and some remembrances of bitter cocoa.

Palate

Clean, pleasant and straightforward, this wine of Bodega Valserrano has a pleasant acidity and some gentle, ripe tannins. Flavours of strawberries, vanilla and balsam, with a medium, balsamic finish.

Our personal opinion

Well-balanced and smooth, Valserrano Crianza 2018 is an excellently priced Rioja.
