Produced by Bodegas Lan, the wine Viña Lanciano Reserva is a blended Spanish red wine made from estate-grown grapes sourced from from Viña Lanciano, a 72-hectare vineyard with pebble soils situated on a bend of the Ebro river, on the border between Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, in the heart of DOCa Rioja.
Selected from 35-year-old vines, the Tempranillo and Graciano grapes were fermented in truncated cone-shaped stainless steel tanks, with a long maceration and frequent pump-overs aimed at extracting colour and tannin.
After that, this red wine from La Rioja was transferred into French oak barrels, where it went through malolactic fermentation and was aged for 17 months.
Then the red wine Viña Lanciano Reserva 2020 matured for a further 8 months in concrete diposits.
Finally, this reserva red wine was kept for no less than 20 months in the bottle before being released onto the market.
Pair with meat carpaccios, cold cuts, cured cheese and roast recipes.
