Cepa 21

Cepa 21

This winery from Ribera del Duero combines a traditional approach with an innovative spirit.

The Cepa 21 winery is the wine project of the third generation of the Moro family in DO Ribera del Duero. Deeply rooted in the traditions of the region, the company also looks forward into the future, as shown by its impressive main facility, a cutting-edge building equipped with state-of-the-art winemaking technology.

The wines of bodega Cepa 21 are sourced from 50 hectares of Tinto Fino, or Tempranillo, vineyards situated around the winery in a chateau-like style. The vines are planted in soils composed of cobble stones. The area has a Mediterranean climate with a Contintental influence.

The facilities of Cepa 21 have a vinification area of 4,600 square meters, in which there are several 20,000-litre stainless steel tanks for fermenting the wines and a number of post-fermentation stabilizing diposits as well. The ageing room, which contains around 2,000 French oak barrels, is almost 70 meters high. Finally, there is a storage area housing almost a milion bottles of wine, patiently waiting the moment in which they will be released onto the market.
