Bodega Dominio de Cair was founded in 2008 by Luis Cañas, founder and manager of the prestigious
wineries Bodega Luis Cañas and Bodegas Amaren from DOCa Rioja.
Bodega Dominio de Cair sources the grapes from a grand total of 120 hectares of both estate and leased
vineyards situated at 820 to 950 metres of altitude, in the vicinity of Aranda de Duero, an area with clay,
sand and gravel soils. The main variety is Tempranillo, the signature grape of DO Ribera del Duero, and
there is also some Merlot. The vineyards are tended with sustainable and environmentally friendly
techniques.
After being meticulously harvested, the grapes enter the state-of-the-art winemaking facility, where they
go through a sourcing table. The wines by Dominio de Cair typically ferment in stainless steel tanks and,
less frequently, in concrete diposits. After that, they are aged in new French and American oak barrels.
The wine portfolio of Bodega Dominio Cair is solely comprised of red wines, such as Cair Selección
La Aguilera, a flawless Crianza from Ribera del Duero.
Yearly production of the Dominio de Cair winery is in the vicinity of 300,000 bottles.
