More than five centuries in the Penedès.

The manor house that gives its name to the Mas Vilella winery was built more than five centuries ago in La Bisbal del Penedès, although its origins go back even further in time, to the era of the Roman colonization of the area. Currently, the 20-hectare estate is owned by the Jané family, whose winemaking tradition began in 1914, when Albert Jané started producing still wines and cavas in a small winery in El Vendrell, in the province of Tarragona.

The second generation of the Jané family consolidated the business, and the third, represented by the founder's grandson, Albert Jané, took on the challenge of expanding the company by adding a line of quality sparkling wines to the portfolio of still wines. This initiative culminated in the Mas Vilella winery joining the Corpinnat association of sparkling wine producers in 2026. In addition to his work at the helm of bodega Mas Vilella, wich he started in 2015, winemaker Albert Jané is known for his highly successful projects in the DO Montsant (Acústic Celler) and the DOQ Priorat (Ritme Celler).

The vineyards of bodega Mas Vilella are planted at an altitude of approximately 300 meters, in an area with very poor, stony and calcareous soils, about 15 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea. The estate vineyards, with very low yields, cover 11 hectares, planted mostly with local varieties, such as the whites Xarel·lo and Malvasia de Sitges, and the red Sumoll, wich coexists with the well-known Cabernet Sauvignon.

Besides still wines, the wine portfolio of the Mas Vilella winery is comprised of Corpinnat sparkling wines, made with indigenous grape varieties sourced from certified organic vineyards, wich debuted on the market with the 2024 vintage. It should be noted that, before completing a minimum of 18 months of bottle aging, the wines are aged on their lees in wood, concrete and amphorae.

The total yearly production of the Mas Vilella winery is between 40.000 and 50.000 bottles.
