Bodega Mas Vilella, the family project of winemaker Albert Jané, presents the sparkling wine Mas Vilella Corpinnat Blanc, one of the two debut releases of its new line of organic sparkling wines. The winery, incidentally, recently became the 23rd member of the Corpinnat association of quality sparkling wine producers.
This Spanish sparkling wine is made from 87% Xarel·lo, 8% Macabeo and 5% Sumoll. The grapes are sourced from 11 hectares of estate vineyards with poor soils composed of rocks and limestone, located in La Bisbal del Penedès, a quintessential Mediterranean terroir where vines grow alongside olive, almond and carob trees. The vineyards are certified organic.
The fermentation of this Corpinnat sparkling wine took place in stainless steel tanks, clay amphorae and 400-litre French oak barrels; then the wine was kept in contact with the lees for 3 months, with perioding stirrings.
Bottled in January 2025, the sparkling wine Mas Vilella Corpinnat Blanc 2024 was aged for 18 months before hitting the market.

Nose
A Corpinnat with a Mediterranean soul, this sparkling wine made from Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Sumoll suggests aromas of citrus peel and yuzu, with hints of fennel, rosemary and thyme, a note of fine lees and spice and a characterful mineral background.
Palate
Structured and vinous, this white Corpinnat by the Mas Vilella winery has a balanced acidity, small bubbles and lively intimations of Mediterranean garrigue, with a clean finish with a salty and gently bitter touch.
