Red Wine Mas Vilella 2022

The red wine Mas Vilella is made by winemaker Albert Jané, known for his work at the helm of Acústic Celler. This Spanish red wine is virtually a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon, nuanced by a 5% Sumoll, an exceedingly interesting variety native to the Penedès region.
The certified organic vineyards are located in the Mas Vilella estate, near La Bisbal del Penedès. The low-yielding vines, about 30 years old, are planted on the foothills of the Montmell mountains, at an altitude between 220 and 280 metres above sea level. Soils are composed of sand and limestone.
The grapes were picked by hand and macerated for over a period of 15 days. Then this Crianza red wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
Once the process was completed, the red wine Mas Vilella 2022 was transferred into new and 2nd year French oak barrels, where it was aged for 12 months.
Bottled in January 2024, this organic red wine was cellared for over a year before hitting the market.

| Palate | Meaty, but not at all heavy, with ripe fruit and notes of vanilla and cocoa. Tight, tense and well-structured, with a smooth texture and lively tannins. This wine of Acústic Celler has a long, spicy finish with some woodland undertones, one of Sumoll's trademarks.  |
