Product Description
Details

A varietal Tempranillo, Zoñan Edición Limitada is a single vineyard Spanish red wine made from 60-year-old vines planted in clay-limestone soils near Olivares del Duero, a village located at 800 metres of altitude, in the very heart of the DO Ribera del Duero.

Picked by hand, the grapes were meticulously selected on arriving at the facilities of bodega Pago de Ina, and subsequently cold-macerated for 6 hours. After fermenting in stainless steel tanks, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was transferred into French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for a period of 15 months.

Bottled in March 2013, Zoñan 2011 Edición Limitada was aged for several years in the bottle before being released onto the market.

It is essential to decant this remarkable reserva red wine 1 hour before drinking.

Only 2,352 bottles produced.

Appearance

The red wine Zoñan Edición Limitada is red ruby with some cherry-coloured tinges.

Nose

Impressively complex and rounded by the years, this Tempranillo balances the typically varietal aromas of blackcurrants and blueberries with subtle notes of Eastern spices, dry earth and Arabica coffee. There are some mineral undertones, as well as hints of violets and forest floor.

Palate

Nuanced, deep and detailed, this wine of bodega Pago de Ina exudes character and nobility. Tannins have been tamed by the years, and the wine is fresh and harmonious. Extremely long finish with impressive mineral remembrances and some spicy and tobaccoish notes.
