Produced by bodega Comalats, the wine Angelina de Comalats is an homage to the matriarch of the Comalats family, Ms. Angelina.
This blended Spanish red wine is made from Syrah (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), sourced from certified organic and biodynamically farmed vineyards sitting at 700 metres of altitude, near the town of L'Ametlla de Segarra, southwest Catalonia, DO Costers del Segre.
Interestingly, this red wine from Costers del Segre was vinified with indigenous yeasts in clay amphorae, concrete deposits and stainless steel tanks. After that, this no added sulfites red wine was aged for 12 months before being bottled in the amphorae and in 8-litre glass demijohns. The wine saw no oak or wood whatsoever.
After that, the red wine Angelina de Comalats 2022 was bottled with no sulfur added and aged for some months before hitting the market.
We suggest aerating this organic red wine 20 minutes before drinking.
