Red Wine Boig per Tu 2021

Coming from DO Montsant, the wine Boig per Tu is an interesting Spanish red wine produced by Celler Vinyes Domènech.
It is made from a blend Grenache, coming from 20-year-old vines, Hairy Grenache from very old vineyards, and Samsó (Carignan) coming from 50-year-old vines. All are certified organic.
Traditionally vinified in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature, the wine Boig per Tu 2021 was first fermented for 20 days.
After that, this Crianza red wine was aged for 10-12 months in old French oak barrels prior to being bottled.
Incidentally, the name of this vegan red wine from Montsant - which translates as "Crazy for you" - comes from a rather cheesy Catalan pop song which made a big hit in the 90s, and is still very popular in the country.

Nose | Intense aromas of ripe berries, aromatic herbs and garrigue. This blend of Grenache, Hairy Grenache and Samsó also suggests mineral remembrances, dim toasted notes and spicy notions. |
Palate | Fresh and pleasant, this wine from Vinyes Domènech has a very good acidity, ripe tannins and a smooth body. The wine fills the palate with flavours of red berries and notions of menthol, underbrush and toast. Long finish with some mineral remembrances. |
Our personal opinion | Lively and yummy, the wine Boig per Tu 2021 is a modern Montsant that pairs excellently with cold cuts and medium aged cheeses. |
