The new wine of bodega Can Sumoi, Can Sumoi Garnatxa Blanca is the substitute of the well-known Can Sumoi Perfum.
A varietal White Grenache, this Spanish white wine comes from two plots located in the Montmell mountains, in the Pla de Manlleu region within DO Penedès.
The first, owned by Sergi Molinari, is called called "Vinya Gran" and is planted with vines over 30 years old. The second, "La Galzeranna", the family vineyard of Elena Llenas, sits at 700 metres of altitude and is surrounded by cereal crops and orchards. Both vineyards are farmed following organic and biodynamic techniques.
Following the biodynamic agriculture calendar, the grapes were harvested on September September 7, 8 and 12 (root and flower days).
They were destemmed, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 18 days.
After that, this minimal intervention natural white wine went through a spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Finally, the white wine Can Sumoi Garnatxa Blanca 2023 was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Pair this organic white wine from Penedès with rice and fish recipes. This organic white wine is also excellent without food or as an after-work sip.
