Red Wine Dosterras 2013
Availability: Out of stock
The 2013 vintage of Dosterras is the second one crafted by Josep Grau Viticultor.
As in previous years, though, this red wine from Montsant was made solely from Grenache.
The grapes used to produce it come from 5 little plots of vineyards which are 70 to more than 100 years of age.
Harvested by hand and brought to the cellar in little, 10-kg. boxes, the wine was vinified in oak vats with several pump-overs and punch-downs performed along the process.
Malolactic fermentation took place in French oak barrels. After that, Dosterras 2013 was aged in those same barrels for over a period of 14 months.
This organic red wine was neither filtered nor clarified prior to its bottling.
Thus, we strongly suggest that you decant it for at least 1 hour before you enjoy it.
This wine from Montsant has a substantial age-worthy potential and will improve in the bottle for a minimum of 10 years.
Appearance | Intense, high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim. |

Nose | Impressively complex, Dosterras 2013 displays a vast array of aromas and nuances. At first, we perceive delicate notes of flowers that rapidly evolve into explosive aromas of red fruit, notions of aromatic herbs, a dash of spices and some touches of chocolate and Havanna cigars. As the wine opens, the minerality comes to the fore and bears witness to the wine's great terroir of origin.

Palate | Intense and powerful, somewhat unbridled right now, but already showing a tremendous potential for improvement. First-class fruit, notes of toast and smoke, resounding mineral undertones, scintillating tannins and crisp acidity. Excellent balance. Extremely long, satisfactory finish. |
Our personal opinion | Dosterras 2013 is a purebred from Montsant that will substantially improve within the next years. Just let time soften a bit the rough edges of the wine and you'll see. |
