Made solely from Monastrell, the wine Enrique Mendoza Oraval by bodega Enrique Mendoza comes from a rather special site in the DO Alicante.
In 1883, the artificial draining of the Villena pond by the irrigation canal of Spanish King Charles IV originated an area of 'escorrentía' (runoff soils) made of clay, Cretaceous limestone and dolomites. The vines grown in this soils produce a particularly appealing expression of the Monastrell variety.
The handpicked grapes were fully destemmed, and then this Spanish red wine was transferred into stainless steel tanks. This red wine from Alicante was fermented under controlled temperature.
After completing the process, the red wine Enrique Mendoza Oraval 2024 went straight into the bottle.
This vegan wine has amazing drinkability. Pair with tapas, rice dishes and finger food.

Appearance

This Vino de Paraje by Bodegas Enrique Mendoza is nimble, fresh and inviting, with smooth tannins and a nice acidity. Medium-long, spicy finish.
