Ferrer Bobet 2021
The exquisite red wine Ferrer Bobet - previously known as Ferrer Bobet Vinyes Velles - is sourced from venerable, 50+ year old Carignan and Grenache vineyards. Grown in Priorat for centuries, no varieties express the dry, dark soil of the region better than those two.
The stellar 2021 vintage of this Spanish red wine, one of the best in recent history, is a blend of 78% Carignan and 22% Grenache.
The grapes were picked by hand and, after a careful selection process, completed alcoholic fermentation in wooden and stainless steel tanks. Then the wine went into fine grain, medium-light toasted French oak barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 15 months.
As usual, the red wine Ferrer Bobet 2021 was neither clarified nor filtered, and was cellared for no less than 24 months after bottling.
We strongly recommend that you decant this red wine from Priorat for 1 hour, at the very least, before you drink it.

| Nose | This blend of old-vines Carignan and Grenache has a high aromatic intensity, beginning lush blackcurrant, raspberry and blackberry, hints of spices -vanilla, clove and pepper- and balsamic aromas of cedar and sandalwood. Delicate floral notes of violets in bloom take us for a moment to Burgundy, but the earthy, refreshing smell of llicorella, Priorat's trademark, soon bring us back home. |
| Palate | This red wine of bodega Ferrer Bobet has a suave texture, with loads for ripe fruit and a note of spices and bitter cocoa, underpinned by a refreshing black slate minerality. Taut and fresh, it has a rock-solid structure and savoury tannins. Long finish with notes of wild berries and flowers. |
