Product Description
Details

A one-of-a-kind varietal Tempranillo red wine, Figuero Noble is made from vines over 70 years old, which are among the very best in the whole of DO Ribera del Duero.

Manually harvested, the grapes were brought to the premises of Bodegas y Viñedos García Figuero and vinified with the utmost care.

First, they were cold-soaked for two days and the fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with periodic manual pump-overs of the solid skin cap. After that, this Spanish red wine was left in contact with its lees for a period of 20 days, and then it completed malolactic fermentation.

Once vinification was completed, this Reserva red wine began a long ageing period. First, the wine spent 21 months in new French oak barrels.

After that, Figuero Noble 2017 was clarified, bottled and aged for a further 12 months in the cellar.

Decant this red wine from Ribera del Duero a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.

Appearance

The wine Figuero Noble is deep purple with a burgundy rim.

Nose

Showing an intense and deep aromatic profile, this old-vines Tempranillo shows a phenomenal balance between fruit and wood. Complex panoply of aromas. Notes of balsam, resin, toast, arabica coffee, liquor infused fruit, fresh blueberries and blackcurrants, withered flowers, damp leaves, cedar and mineral... to name only a few.

Palate

Extremely deep and complex. This red wine of Bodegas y Viñedos García Figuero has a lush texture and a richness that never ceases to evolve. Remembrances of wet earth, graphite, lavender, dark mineral, cocoa powder and black fruit. Bold tannins, crisp acidity and extremely long finish. Remarkable ageing potential.

Our personal opinion

Provocatively rich and complex, the best years of Figuero Noble 2017 are yet to come. Be sure to decant the wine before drinking it and pair it with some premium meat.

This is what I would call a wine to cellar. Right now it is like a raging bull, and you better be a good torero if you want to handle it. Everything is here, though. The fruit, the terroir, the tannins... Give it a minimum of 5 years in a good celler and it will become quite something.
