Gómez Cruzado Honorable 2021
A classic DOCa Rioja red blend, the wine Gómez Cruzado Honorable is produced by the Gómez Cruzado winery from old vineyards composed of different types of soils and planted across the slopes of Sierra Cantabria, from Lanciego to Labastida.
The 2021 vintage of this Spanish red wine is, as usual, a blend of Tempranillo with some Grenache and Graciano.
Each parcel was separately harvested and vinified. The destemmed grapes were destemmed and macerated uncrushed to extract colour and tannin in a gentle manner, and then this red wine from La Rioja was fermented in tanks with periodic pump-overs.
Then the red wine Gómez Cruzado Honorable 2021 was aged for 18 months in 80% French oak and 20% American oak barrels.
After bottling, it was further aged for a minimum of 18 months before hitting the market.
Decant this Crianza red wine at least 30 minutes before drinking.

| Nose | This is a powerful blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Grenache, with crème de cassis, mulberries, lather, fine tobacco and cocoa, with a spicy undercurrent and some peppery and toasted remembrances. |
| Palate | Substantial and savoury, with layers of berryish flavours over a spicy cushion, some chewy tannins and a beautiful acidity which keeps it fresh all the way to its lingering finish. This wine of the Gómez Cruzado winery feels quite young, and it should benefit from some time in the cellar. |
| Our personal opinion | Polished and classy, the wine Gómez Cruzado Honorable 2021 really needs a decant to be fully enjoyed. |
