This is the new vintage of Jaume de Puntiró Porprat, a single vineyard Spanish red wine from Mallorca.
A varietal Merlot, this organic red wine was produced by the Jaume de Puntiró winery from 20-year-old grapevines planted in soils composed of clay and limestone. The vineyard is located in the town of Santthis Maria del Camí, a place protected by the Tramuntana mountain range about 10 kilometres from Palma de Mallorca, the capital of that enchanting island.
Harvested at their optimal ripening point and selected at the vineyard, once in the cellar the grapes were gently pressed and cold-macerated to extract more colour and aromas.
After that, this Crianza red wine from DO Binissalem-Mallorca was fermented in stainless steel tanks After that, Jaume de Puntiró Porprat 2017 was aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
