Produced by Bodegas Lan, the red wine Lan D-12 homages an old La Rioja tradition. In the past, the cellar masters of the region used to keep the best wines for the personal consumption of the winemaking and vineyard crew. At Bodegas Lan, the top quality wines were vinified in Depósito nº12, hence the name of this Spanish red wine.
Made solely from Tempranillo, this red wine from La Rioja is sourced from three plots of vines, aged 30 to 45, with clay-limestone soils. They are situated in the villages of Vinaspre, El Cortijo and San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks, after which the lees were periodically stirred to enhance colour extraction and increase the creaminess of the wine.
After completing the malo, the red wine Lan D-12 2022 was aged for 12 months in new French (35%) and American (65%) oak barrels.
