Made from a little-known indigenous grape called Prieto Picudo, this Spanish red wine is produced in the northern Spanish region of Castilla y León.
Made from vineyards up to 20 years of age, the wine Leione is produced by Dominio de Tares.
The harvest took place in October. Once in the cellar, the grapes were selected, destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks with 3 daily pump-overs. Then this Crianza red wine was aged for 4 months in new American and French oak barrels. It was racked 3 times during the process.
Finally, the red wine Leione 2023 was gently filtered and aged for a further 6 months in the cellar before its release.

Appearance
The red wine Leione is medium purple with a garnet rim.
Nose
This varietal Prieto Picudo is very lively. Exuberant notes of red and black fruit, aromas of violets, and some lactic and spicy touches over a liquorice background.
Palate
Fresh, crisp and zippy, this wine by Dominio de Tares winery is reminiscent of stawberry candies, toast, aromatic herbs and liquorice. Lively acidity, round tannins and long finish.
