Details

The red wine Luna Beberide Art of bodega Luna Beberide is produced from centenary Mencía vineyards planted on steep slopes near Villafranca del Bierzo, DO Bierzo. The 2020 vintage of this Spanish red wine, incidentally, is the first bearing the seal "Vino de Paraje Valdetruchas."

The grapes are sourced from over 60-year-old, south-oriented vines grown in clay-limestone soils with decomposed slate at 700 to 900 metres of altitude.

After an early harvest, the grapes were selected twice, destemmed and vinified in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature. After completing the malo, the red wine Luna Beberide Art 2020 was transferred into French oak barrels and oak vats, where it was aged for 12 months before being bottled.

Finally, this red wine from El Bierzo was kept for a further few months in the cellar before being released onto the market.

This varietal Crianza red wine is characteristic and terroir-driven.

12,500 bottles produced.

Appearance

The red wine Luna Beberide Art is deep ruby with some reddish reflections.

Nose

This varietal Mencía is lively and gently mineral, with a medley of herbs and wild berries, an blood-iron remembrance and subtle spicy and toasted notes.

Palate

Crunchy and tangy, with sinewy tannins and a hint of brambles, crushed rocks and violets. The acidity efforetlessly carries this wine of the Luna Beberide winery, which ends with a note of spice and herbs.

Our personal opinion

Elegant and nuanced, Luna Beberide Art 2020 is quite impressive

Dark and charming
Value
This wine is deep and very well defined, but not over the top. It really speaks of the place, and in a clear, distinctive voice.
